This is a single-barrel Texas straight bourbon from the Garrison Brothers Balmorhea programme, bottled uncut and unfiltered at cask strength, 133.1 proof, in a 75cl bottle. The barrel was hand-selected by Master Distiller Donnis Todd.
Balmorhea is double-barrelled: after its first maturation the bourbon moves into a second, new American oak barrel for another cycle with fresh wood.
Single-barrel Balmorhea releases are typically described as caramelised brown sugar, dark chocolate, toasted oak and vanilla, with warm baking spice and leather, and a long, velvety finish.
