Garrison Brothers Boot Flask is the distillery's Small Batch Texas Straight Bourbon in a flat 37.5cl bottle shaped to slip into a boot, backpack or coat pocket. It is bottled at 47%.
The sweet mash is Texas corn, red winter wheat and malted barley, and the bourbon is aged at least three years in new American white oak at the distillery in Hye, Texas. Extra-thick-staved barrels and the heat of the Hill Country lead to an angel's share of around 40%.
The nose is golden delicious apple with honey, floral verbena, fresh-cut grass, saddle leather and cinnamon. The palate moves from orange hard candy and lemon gumdrops to pound cake, vanilla and smoky baking spices, and the finish is long, with caramel apple, walnuts and cinnamon.
