Garrison Brothers – Guadalupe Bourbon Whiskey 2023 (75cl, 53.5%)

Garrison Brothers Guadalupe is a Texas straight bourbon finished in port casks, bottled at 53.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It begins as the distillery's flagship bourbon, aged four years in toasted and charred white American oak, then spends a further two years in tawny port casks from Portugal. Master Distiller Donnis Todd developed the combination with Portuguese winemakers. The 2023 release was limited to 16,098 bottles and debuted at the distillery's event in Hye, Texas, on 4 February 2023. The nose is vanilla, caramel and oak with a hint of smoke, then ripe red berries and strawberry jam. The palate is full and smooth, with strawberry butter, black cherries, cinnamon and dark chocolate. The finish is long, with dried plums, port wine and caramelised oak.
