Garrison Brothers – PX Sherry Cask Finished Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon (75cl, 67.5%)

This is a Texas straight bourbon from Garrison Brothers, part of the Ranch Reserve series and bottled from a single barrel at cask strength. Proof varies from barrel to barrel, from 126 to 135 proof (63 to 67.5%), in a 75cl-style 750ml bottle. The whiskey spent four years in toasted and charred white American oak, then a further four years in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Spain. It was distilled at the Garrison Brothers distillery in Hye, Texas. In the glass it is described as rich and full-bodied, with raisins, figs and toffee, and the dark fruit and sweetness of the Pedro Ximénez finish layered over the bourbon.
