Garrison Brothers Ranch Reserve Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished is a Texas straight bourbon from the distillery in Hye, in a 750ml bottle. It is the first dry expression in the Ranch Reserve Series.
The bourbon begins as the distillery's Texas Straight Small Batch, aged four years in new American oak. It then spends a further four years in Oloroso sherry casks from a single producer in Jerez, Spain. The edition numbers 6,000 bottles, each with a leather band and walnut-coloured wax dipping.
It is described as savoury and structured, with walnut and baking spice to the fore and a drier character that lets the Texas bourbon come through.
