Garrison Brothers – Ranch Reserve Sherry Cask Finish Straight Bourbon (75cl)

A Texas straight bourbon from Garrison Brothers of Hye, finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The whiskey spends four years in toasted and charred American white oak, then select barrels move into sherry casks from southern Spain for a further four years. Pedro Ximénez is made from sun-dried grapes concentrated to near-raisin sweetness, and the casks leave the bourbon dark, rich and layered. The nose offers chocolate, toffee, caramel, raisins, figs and candied fruit. The palate is dense and velvety, with intense sweetness, dark toffee and dried fruit. The finish is long, with lingering sherry sweetness.
