Gentleman Jack is a Tennessee whiskey from the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, bottled at 40% ABV in a 1.75 litre bottle.
It is made from a mashbill of 80% corn, 12% barley and 8% rye, and is charcoal mellowed twice through sugar maple charcoal: once before ageing and again before bottling.
The nose is soft vanilla and caramel with honey, light banana and a hint of charcoal. The palate is rich caramel and vanilla, then summer fruit and burnt brown sugar, with a smooth, almost syrupy feel. The finish is silky and warm, with vanilla and toasted oak fading slowly.
