Gentleman Jack is a double-mellowed Tennessee whiskey from the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The mashbill is roughly 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye, and the whiskey is matured in new American white oak barrels. What sets it apart is a second pass through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal after ageing, repeating the Lincoln County Process that Jack Daniel's whiskeys undergo before entering the barrel.
Honey-toned caramel, vanilla and toasted oak lead the nose. The palate brings melted fudge, fried banana, toasted nuts and cinnamon, and the finish is clean and mellow with vanilla, light oak and warm ginger.
