George Dickel Bottled In Bond 13 Year Old Tennessee Whiskey 2008 (75cl, 50%)

This is the fourth release in George Dickel's Bottled-in-Bond series, a 13 year old Tennessee whiskey distilled in the Fall 2008 season at Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. in Tullahoma. It is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 75cl bottle. Master distiller Nicole Austin chose the barrels by blind tasting. They were laid down in 2008 and rested two years beyond the 11 year release. The whisky is chill charcoal mellowed and made from 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley. The nose is bright fresh cherry, cedar and almond. The palate is sweet and hot, with caramel and bold fruit and nut, leading to a structured oak finish.
