George Dickel Rye is a five-year-old rye whisky in a 750ml bottle at 45% ABV. It was distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, from a mash bill of 95% rye, then put through the Lincoln County Process after ageing and bottled in Connecticut.
It sits on the smoother, sweeter side of the rye range.
The nose is restrained, with vanilla and oak. On the palate come cigar wrapper, leather, toffee and cocoa, with some mint and rye spice. The long finish brings a brief freshness of cut apple, with allspice and clove.
