George Remus Straight Bourbon is the flagship bourbon from MGP of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, bottled under the distillery's own George Remus name. It is a small batch blend of high rye bourbons, each aged for at least four years in new charred American white oak, and bottled without chill filtration at 94 proof (47%). The name comes from the Cincinnati lawyer known as the King of the Bootleggers.
The colour runs from deep gold to pale amber. The nose is caramel and vanilla with cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and a note of cherry. The palate brings maple syrup, vanilla, ripe cherry and crisp orchard fruit, and the finish is warm, with a pop of rye spice and gentle oak.
