Georgia Moon is an unaged corn whiskey made by Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle, less than 30 days after distillation.
It is made from a mashbill of at least 81% corn, a little above the 80% required for corn whiskey, and is not aged in the way a bourbon would be.
The nose has a funky, dried-fruit sweetness with sage, tarragon and fresh corn. The palate is doughy bread and sweetcorn with a creamy feel, then rum and raisin, buttery corn and white pepper. The finish is soft, with corn sweetness, gentle warmth and faint pepper.
