Gianfranco Alessandria Dolcetto d'Alba

This Dolcetto d'Alba from Gianfranco Alessandria comes from the Langhe in Piedmont. It is made from carefully selected Dolcetto grapes and matured in steel to preserve the fresh, fruity character of the variety. It is vivid ruby red with violet reflections. The nose offers cherry and plum, with aromatic herbs and a light bitter almond note. On the palate it is harmonious, with fresh acidity, soft tannins and a finish of good persistence. It suits pasta with meat sauce, Piedmontese starters, red meats and cheeses, and is best enjoyed young.
