Giffard Cassis Noir de Bourgogne

Giffard Cassis Noir de Bourgogne is a blackcurrant liqueur, dark and purplish-blue in colour with a glowing depth. The nose brings ripe fruit with a touch of leaves and cassis buds, which help the fruit show its full character. Sweet but not syrupy, it gives powerful fruit flavour in a well-balanced composition. Served over ice, the sweetness fades and the cassis berry and vegetal touches come forward. Giffard was started in 1885 by the pharmacist Emile Giffard, and the family still runs it, four generations on.
