This is a 16-year-old Speyside single malt from Braeval, bottled by Gleann Mór Spirits in its Rare Find range. The spirit was distilled on 11 February 2009, then given a 12-month finish in a first-fill bourbon barrel before bottling in 2025. It comes at a cask strength of 62%, with natural colour and without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 195 bottles, and it won an IWSC Gold Medal in 2025.
Buttered popcorn, pencil shavings and mandarin lead the nose. The palate is juicy and oily, with toffee, vanilla, cherry and flapjack. The finish is bold, with orange and white pepper.
