Gleann Mór Rare Find Mystery Islay 9 Year Old (70cl, 57.9%)

This is a mystery Islay single malt, 9 years old, from Gleann Mór Spirits and part of its Rare Find range. It was distilled in 2017 and finished for 18 months in a first-fill Oloroso quarto cask, then bottled in 2026 at a cask strength of 57.9%. The colour is natural and the whisky is not chill-filtered. The outturn is 186 bottles of 70cl. The nose is briny and medicinal, with lemon, maritime smoke, green olive and smoked seafood. On the palate, creamy toffee and berry fruits sit with smoke, iodine and citrus, followed by walnuts and almonds. The finish lingers on driftwood, smoked lemons and salt water.
