This is a 13 year old Glen Elgin from a single refill Pineau des Charentes barrique, bottled at 56.2% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled on 6 March 2013 and bottled on 22 July 2026, with an outturn of 265 bottles.
Glen Elgin is condensed in worm tubs, and the bottlers find the wood has to be chosen with care to show it at its best. Here the cask type is a less common one. The label shows meadows and a grasshopper, recalling a summer Andrew spent in the Charentes region of France as a teenager.
Blackcurrant chews, white tea and apricot jam on the nose lead to Madeira cake, grenadine and cognac on the palate, then a finish of candied ginger, light tamarind and fresh rocket.
