Glen Garioch 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, which traces its roots to 1797. It is bottled at 48% ABV in a 75cl bottle and is non-chill-filtered.
The whisky spent twelve years maturing in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks. This version dates to the distillery's 2010 relaunch.
The nose is honeyed, with heathery floral notes, poached pears and sweet malted barley. The palate has crème brûlée and ripe banana, then light oak and pear, leading to a long, smooth, creamy and fragrant finish.
