Glen Garioch Vintage 1991 is a Scottish single malt matured for 19 years in North American oak. It was bottled at full cask strength, 54.7% ABV, without chill-filtration.
The whisky was made before the distillery closed in 1995 and carries a light, elegant smoke. Glen Garioch stopped using peat after it reopened, so this bottling shows the older style of the distillery.
The colour is golden. The nose opens with vanilla and toffee, then apple, pear, peach and melon, ending in nutmeg, cinnamon and brown sugar. The palate is slow and honeyed, with vanilla, coconut, burnt banana and light chocolate, leading to a strong, lasting finish.
