Glen Garioch Founder's Reserve is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire, bottled at 48% in a 75cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered.
The whisky is matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks and is unpeated. Glen Garioch was founded in 1797, which makes it one of Scotland's oldest distilleries, and this is its house style: honey, heather and fruit over creamy oak.
The nose is heather honey, sweet fruit and creamy oak. The palate is full-bodied, with honeyed malt, orchard fruit and sherry-cask depth, leading to a long, sweet finish with lingering spice.
