Glen Garry Finest Scotch Whisky is a blended Scotch from the 1960s, bottled by John Hopkins & Co. Ltd. in a 75cl bottle. The label names St Magdalene Distillery in Linlithgow and describes the contents as 100% Scotch whiskies, distilled and bottled in Scotland under British Government supervision. The nose begins in an old-fashioned way, with damp wood, old newspaper and camphor, then opens with air to baked apple, chalk, honey, dried flowers, herbal tobacco and faint bonfire smoke. The palate is medium to light and oily, with apple, ripe pear, milk chocolate, vanilla and caramel, plus engine oil or hessian and a gentle tea bitterness. The finish is medium to long and dry, with pipe tobacco, citrus peel, wax and malty sweetness.
