This is a 70 year old Speyside single malt from Glen Grant, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Private Collection. It was distilled on 11 June 1948 and matured in a first fill sherry butt, cask 2154, until it was bottled on 19 October 2018 at 48.6%. The cask gave 210 bottles of 70cl. It has no added colouring and no chill-filtration.
The nose brings deep sherry, dark dried fruit and ripe orange, with polished oak, nuts and fine spice. The palate is dense, with raisins, dark fruit, chocolate and spice. The finish is very long, with dry sherry spice and aged wood.
