First-fill sherry butt
This is a Glen Grant single malt from a single cask laid down in 1952, chosen by Gordon & MacPhail for its Private Collection and released for the Platinum Jubilee. It spent 70 years in a first-fill sherry butt and was bottled on 6th February, the date of the Queen's accession. Only 256 bottles were filled, and the release supports the Queen's Green Canopy initiative. Dark gold in colour, it opens with beeswax polish, ripe fig, toffee and orange zest, with aged leather tempering rum and raisin. The palate brings stewed blackberry compote, sweet clementine and milk chocolate over a menthol undertone. The finish is long, with a touch of smoke and a hint of pepper.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
