A 63 year old Glen Grant from Speyside, the third edition of the Mr. George Legacy series, a tribute to George Urquhart of Gordon & MacPhail. It was distilled in October 1959 and matured for more than six decades in a first fill sherry butt.
Bottled in 2022 at a natural cask strength of 56.5% ABV, without added colour or chill-filtration, it yielded 368 bottles.
The nose combines autumn spices, demerara sugar and dried fruit with deep sherry notes and aged oak. On the palate are stewed red fruit, bitter Seville orange, garden mint and cocoa powder in a dense, silky texture. The finish is long and spicy, with cinnamon, ripe oak and lasting fruit sweetness.
