Glen Grant – 1966/2025 59 Year Old Refill Sherry Hogshead Year of the Fire Horse (Gordon & MacPhail) (70cl, 51.1%)

A 59 year old single cask Glen Grant from Speyside, drawn entirely from refill sherry hogshead 3740. It was distilled on 6 June 1966, laid down for maturation by George Urquhart and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail on 22 October 2025 at a cask strength of 51.1%. The cask gave 88 bottles, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered with no added colouring. The Year of the Fire Horse edition links the 1966 vintage with the Chinese year of the Fire Horse in 2026, the first since 1966. It comes in a red box with a horse motif. The nose combines vanilla cream and roasted hazelnuts with clear cinnamon spice. On the palate, cocoa and rich sultanas give way to lively autumn spices. The finish is long, with mixed nuts and citrus peel.
