This is a 43 year old Speyside single malt from Glen Grant, part of the Gordon & MacPhail Dram Takers Collection. It was distilled in 1978, matured in a refill American hogshead and bottled in 2022 at 42.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Only 87 bottles were filled, without colouring or chill-filtration.
The label design takes its inspiration from the Book of Kells.
The nose combines ripe light fruit, vanilla and fine malt with gentle oak spice and nutty touches. The palate is soft and elegant, with orchard fruit, subtle sweetness, spices and a finely aged wood structure. The finish is long, balanced and dry, with fruit, nuts and soft oak.
