It is release number 17 in The Chess Malt Collection, the bottling that corresponds to A1 on the chessboard. The collection bottles three or four single casks a year from different Scottish distilleries.
Glen Grant was founded in 1840 by the brothers James and John Grant and is now owned by Campari Group. The distillery also has a large Victorian garden laid out in the 1880s.
