Glen Grant 31 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, released as Batch 2 at 44.4% in a 50cl bottle, with no added colour.
It matured for 31 years in a single bourbon hogshead that had held whisky before, filled in October 1991. The release runs to 264 bottles. The label belongs to the 2024 series The End of the World and shows a solar flare, with James 'The Major' Grant looking back at the threatened Earth from space.
Candied orange peel, dried apricots and figs lead the nose, with vanilla and oak emerging. The palate is soft and creamy, with butterscotch, pineapple in syrup and mango. The finish is spicy, with lasting oak.
