Glen Grant 50 Year Old 1966/2016 Sherry Hogshead #884 - Signatory Vintage Rare Reserve (70cl, 54.6%)

This is a 50 year old Glen Grant from Speyside, bottled by Signatory Vintage for its Rare Reserve range within the Cask Strength Collection. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 54.6% ABV. The whisky was distilled in February 1966 and bottled in July 2016 from sherry hogshead 884, producing 108 bottles. It is natural in colour and not chill-filtered. The tasting notes describe ripe apples and pears with honey and mango on the nose. The palate brings pineapple, kiwi and mango alongside creamy toffee, honey and chocolate, and the finish is very long, with deep chocolate and concentrated dried fruit sweetness.
