A Speyside single malt from Glen Grant, in a 70cl bottle. The name refers to James Grant II, known as The Major.
Glen Grant dates from 1840, when the brothers John and James Grant took out a licence with the aim of making the world's greatest single malt. The Major's Reserve has been regarded as a way into single malts. The distillery has since discontinued it.
It is described as restrained and elegant, balanced by an underlying power and persistence of flavour.
