Glen Moray 15 y.o. Bourbon & Oloroso Sherry Cask (70cl, 40%)

Glen Moray 15 y.o. Bourbon & Oloroso Sherry Cask is a fifteen-year-old Speyside single malt. Two equal portions are matured separately, one entirely in American oak and the other in Oloroso sherry casks, before being married. Dried fruit, dark chocolate and spice shape the combination. It is bottled at 40% vol in a 70cl bottle with a gift box, with added colour and chill-filtered. The separate maturation and subsequent marriage draw on the distillery's long experience with different cask types. Glen Moray in Elgin began as the Elgin West Brewery, with its first distillation on 13 September 1897. The nose combines sherry-led oak and butter toffee with hints of dark chocolate and a spice mix. The palate is full-bodied, with winey notes and fine oak influence meeting spicy dark chocolate and a hint of smoke. The finish is intense, with oak present as the sweetness of dried fruit gradually fades.
