This is a 15-year-old Speyside single malt from Glen Moray, distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2022 for the Wilson & Morgan Barrel Selection. It comes at a cask strength of 57.9% in a 70cl bottle, from an outturn of 586 bottles.
The whisky spent 54 months finishing in second-fill port pipes, which keeps the influence of the wine gentler than a first-fill cask would.
The nose is creamy and dark, with black and red cherries and liqueur-filled chocolate. On the palate it is mineral and full-bodied, with beeswax, maraschino cherries, sachertorte and dried plums. The finish is very peppery, lively and warm.
