Glen Moray Elgin Classic Port Cask Finish is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky in a 750ml bottle at 40% ABV. Glen Moray stands on the River Lossie in Elgin and was among the first Scotch distilleries to experiment with port cask maturation.
The malt is matured first in American bourbon barrels, then finished for eight months in tawny port pipes from Porto Cruz.
The nose brings creamy vanilla, redcurrants and blackberry, with toasted oak behind. The palate has golden honey, butterscotch and cinnamon, then caramel, citrus and soft chocolate, with dark red fruits and raisins. The finish is long, with honey, vanilla and cocoa.
