Glen Moray Elgin Classic Sherry Cask Finish is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. It comes from Glen Moray, established in 1897 on the banks of the River Lossie in Elgin.
The spirit spends around six to seven years in ex-bourbon barrels, then moves to oloroso sherry casks for a finishing period of nine to twelve months.
The nose is dried fruit, raisins and toffee, with milk chocolate and butterscotch. The palate is soft and sweet, with vanilla and oak, then dark chocolate, oriental spice and steadily building cinnamon. The finish is long, with a tingle of spice, a little smoke and violet, and a gently drying close.
