This is a 10 year old peated single malt from Glen Scotia, a Campbeltown distillery. The peat comes from the north-east of Scotland, and the whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels.
The character is lightly smoky with a maritime edge. The nose has smouldering peat and briny notes, with hints of baked apple and cloves. On the palate come lemon, vanilla syrup and freshly cut barley.
The finish is long and drying, with gentle, sweet peat and a touch of black pepper.
