Glen Scotia – 15 Years Old

This is a 15 year old single malt from Glen Scotia, matured in American oak barrels before bottling. The nose combines vanilla oak with sea spray and spicy, aromatic fruit. With time it shows citrus peel, ginger snap biscuits and apricot, then fruit salad, and water brings out baked fruit. The palate first suggests plump fruit but turns out surprisingly dry, and water draws out caramelised notes alongside the wood. The finish is firm and slightly dry.
