Glen Scotia 2011 Whiskyopolis is Release No. 1 in the Campbeltown Saga series, a Campbeltown single malt bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The series looks back at the town's Victorian whisky heyday, when 37 distilleries worked there. Glen Scotia itself was founded in 1832.
Iain McAlister chose only first fill bourbon barrels filled with medium peated spirit, taken from the one month of the year in which peated spirit is made. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, with a rich, smoky Campbeltown character and maritime notes.
