Glen Scotia – Double Cask

Glen Scotia Double Cask is a single malt matured in first fill bourbon barrels, then finished for up to twelve months in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. It is described as pairing rich spicy fruits with sea spray and vanilla oak. The nose is sweet, with creme caramel, caramelised fruit sugars, toffee and fudge before apple and peach appear, and a charred bourbon note beneath. The palate starts sweet with good mid-palate weight, and the dry distillery character remains. The finish is deep and dark.
