Glen Scotia Double Cask is a Campbeltown single malt bottled at 46% ABV. Glen Scotia is one of three working distilleries in the region. The whisky is matured first in first-fill bourbon barrels, then finished for up to 12 months in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The nose opens with crème caramel, toffee, fudge and candied fruit, later bringing peach, apple, dusty oak and a hint of sea salt. The palate is sweet and silky, with caramel, stewed plums, raisins, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is medium, with lingering sherry sweetness, oak spice and a saline note.
