The Mermaid is a 12 year old unpeated single malt from Glen Scotia, the first of five releases. It is named for the mermaid sightings reported along the Campbeltown coast, particularly in the 1800s. The whisky spent eight months finished in Palo Cortado sherry casks and is bottled at a cask strength of 54.1%. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The nose brings Atlantic sea breeze, and the palate is sweet and nutty with subtle maritime notes and the distillery's salty signature.
