Glen Scotia – Victoriana Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl, 54.2%)

Glen Scotia Victoriana is a Campbeltown single malt made as a modern tribute to the town's Victorian whisky heyday, aiming for the rich, robust, cask-driven character once associated with the region. It is bottled undiluted at a cask strength of 54.2% ABV. The whisky matures first in first and second-fill bourbon casks. It then spends up to twelve months in heavily charred bourbon barrels and Pedro Ximénez sherry butts, followed by six months of marrying before bottling. There is no age statement, though the component whiskies are mostly around 10 to 12 years old. The nose brings caramelised sugar, crème brûlée, molasses, dark red fruit and light wood smoke. The palate is full-bodied, with demerara sugar, treacle, clove, allspice and ripe red fruit, ending firm and dry with a little peat.
