This GlenAllachie 10 Year Old was distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2023 at 48% in a 70cl bottle, without added colour or chill-filtering. It belongs to the GlenAllachie Wine Series from Master Blender Billy Walker.
The whisky was first matured in ex-bourbon casks of American oak, then moved to hand-picked European wine casks. Four of these were blended for the finish: casks from Languedoc and Médoc in France, and from Italy casks that held Grattamacco and Recioto della Valpolicella.
The nose is full of bright fruits, heather honey and dried red berries, with ginger, caramelised biscuit and soft spice. The palate has dark chocolate, grape must and plum jam, then cinnamon and gingerbread, with ginger and cream caramel in the finish.
