GlenAllachie – 10 Year Old French Virgin Oak (70cl, 48%)

GlenAllachie 10 Year Old French Virgin Oak is a limited edition single malt, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered, and its rich bronze colour comes naturally from the casks. The whisky was first matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, then spent a further 18 months in French oak hogsheads from the Haute-Garonne region. The fine-grained wood had been air dried for 15 months before it held the spirit. The second maturation is described as adding silky tannins, sweet spices and fruit to an earthy malt.
