GlenAllachie – 12 Year Old

GlenAllachie 12 Year Old is an unpeated Speyside single malt from Scotland, and the distillery's core-range flagship. It is bottled without added colouring or chill filtration, with a deep bronze to mahogany colour. The whisky is matured in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, together with red wine barriques and virgin oak. The distillery, established in 1967, was acquired in 2017 by a team led by Master Distiller Billy Walker, and uses fermentations of up to 160 hours. The nose has heather honey, dark chocolate, mocha, sultanas and cinnamon. The palate is full and oily, with treacle, butterscotch, orange zest, nutmeg and ginger. The finish carries cocoa and dried fruit.
