This is a single cask GlenAllachie, distilled in 2014 and bottled at 12 years old straight from cask No. 802189 at 63.6% ABV.
The whisky matured in a Chinquapin Oak barrel. Chinquapin is a North American oak that Billy Walker and GlenAllachie have worked with for several years. It typically gives plenty of spice, sweetness and warm oak notes, a different profile from the more usual bourbon and sherry casks.
The full, fruity GlenAllachie spirit meets the strong character of the wood, and the cask strength gives an intense, concentrated whisky.
