GlenAllachie – 12 Year Old (46%)

GlenAllachie 12 Year Old is the flagship single malt from the independently owned Speyside distillery, bottled at 46% abv. It was put together by Master Distiller Billy Walker. The spirit goes through a very slow fermentation, which builds a rich, fruity character before it goes into wood, and sherry casks have a strong influence on the finished whisky. The nose offers heather honey, dark chocolate, treacle and sticky raisins. On the palate it is silky and full-bodied, with marzipan, orange zest, mocha, butterscotch and a little grated nutmeg. The finish is long and complex.
