This is a single cask GlenAllachie, distilled in 2009 and matured for 15 years in a Sauternes hogshead, cask no. 3721, from Batch 8. It is bottled at cask strength, 57.9% ABV.
The distillery selects casks that develop distinctive character and bottles them individually. The colour is polished gold.
The nose offers heather honey, peaches and vanilla, with cinnamon spice, mocha and caramel. On the palate come butterscotch, grilled honeycomb and poached orchard fruits, followed by ginger, hazelnut and muscovado sugar, with golden syrup and citrus.
