GlenAllachie 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the distillery at Aberlour, at the foot of Ben Rinnes, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It was matured for 15 years in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry puncheons and hogsheads, chosen by Master Distiller Billy Walker, and is bottled non-chill filtered with no added colouring.
Billy Walker took over the distillery in 2017 and began recasking its maturing stock into sherry wood. The 15 Year Old joined the core range in 2019.
The nose offers dark cherries, golden syrup and sweet spices, with toffee, glazed figs and hazelnuts. The palate brings heather honey, orange peel, cocoa and ginger, and the finish is long and warming, with caramelised brown sugar.
