GlenAllachie – 17 Year Old Master of Wood Mizunara & Oloroso Cask Finish (70cl, 50%)

This is a 17 year old Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2024 at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It opens the Masters of Wood series, the Wood Collection's range for its most experimental finishes. Billy Walker finished it in Mizunara casks, made from Japanese oak, together with Oloroso sherry puncheons and hogsheads. Only 4,380 bottles were filled, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The flavours are described as heather honey, dried orange peel, cinnamon apples and fig syrup, dusted with cocoa, pecans and demerara sugar.
