This is a 21 year old cask strength Glenallachie, batch 5, bottled at 49.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was put together from five sherry puncheons and hogsheads that had held PX and Oloroso sherry.
It brings to mind fruit cake, warm mocha and ripe cherries. The palate shows rich chocolate, warm baking spices and clementine zest, then molasses, orchard fruits and crystallised ginger. Black cherries and raisin butter run through the finish.
